We have been providing economic development consulting services to our seven-county region for over 40 years. Our primary purpose is to partner with area communities and other economic development organizations to foster a sustainable, diverse economy that is attractive to businesses and supported by quality employment and educational opportunities for all residents. WCWRPC has been integral in helping our clients and businesses secure millions in grants and other funding to implement their projects. With a focus on partnerships, these projects have created quality jobs and increased the tax base throughout the region

Disaster Recovery Microloan Program   

Program Description

West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (WCWRPC) is the regional administrator of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation's Disaster Recovery Microloan Program. The Disaster Recovery Microloan Program works to provide short-term financial assistance to businesses affected by a natural or manmade disaster event.


To be eligible, a business must:

  1. Be located within the seven-county region (Barron, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Polk, and St. Croix);
  2. Have suffered measurable physical or economic losses because of a disaster event;
  3. Attest to intent to resume business operations in the community as quickly as possible.

Eligible activities include:

  1. Procurement of cleanup and restoration services
  2. Operating expenses such as payroll (note: taxes, fines and fees are not eligible)
  3. Rent/mortgage for temporary space
  4. Repair and reconstruction (eligible uses could include architecture & engineering costs, equipment/furniture/fixtures)

Finance Terms and Conditions

  1. Loan size up to $20,000
  2. 0% fixed interest rate
  3. Loan term is 36 months
  4. Payment deferral required for 6 months; payments to be made over the remaining 30 months following the deferral period
  5. Collateral is required
  6. Unlimited personal guarantees are required for any owner with a 20% or greater ownership interest in the business
  7. All customary out-of-pocket fees made in connection with the transaction are the applicant’s responsibility
