Planning Commission and the City of Eau Claire are pleased to invite you to the eighth biennial

 

2008 Wisconsin State Pedestrian and Bicycle Conference. This year’s conference will be held at the

Ramada Convention Center in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and promises to be the premier educational and

networking event for transportation professionals, educators, public health specialists, park and recreation

managers, elected officials, planners and citizens who are involved in the creation of bicycle and

pedestrian friendly environments. 

 

· Learn about the economic and health benefits of active transportation.

· Keeping children safe and active through Safe Routes to Schools.

· Meet others who are interested in improving their communities through walking and bicycling.

· Learn about responsible “Green” commuting, tourism and marketing of trail systems.

· Learn how to build multi-jurisdictional trails with diverse funding sources.

· Designing bicycle and pedestrian facilities for large and small communities.

· Learn about Complete Streets initiatives.

· Maintenance challenges to bicycle/pedestrian facilities.

· Learn about new concepts in regional bicycle and pedestrian system planning.

· Take part in fun walking and riding activities in beautiful Eau Claire. Wisconsin.

 

Registration

Registration fee is for the two-day conference and will include one dinner, two lunches,

one breakfast and all breaks.

REGISTRATION FEE:  $90 BEFORE AUGUST 1; $125 AFTER AUGUST 1, 2008.

          STUDENT FEE:  $50 BEFORE AUGUST 1; $75 AFTER AUGUST 1, 2008.

 

Accommodations

A block of hotel rooms at the Ramada Convention Center in Eau Claire has been reserved

for this function at the rate of $62 per night for single or double occupancy.  Please call

On August 14-15, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation will sponsor a 2-day pedestrian safety workshop, How to Develop a  Pedestrian Safety Plan, in conjunction with the Pedestrian and Bicycle Conference at the same location as the conference.  See
